Manapouri Track Hope Arm Circle Lake Rakatu Back Valley

Circle track - Circle track is situated across the river from Pearl Harbour at Manapouri on the Manpouri Walking Track. It is a 3 ½ hour circular walking track, which provides a look out point over the Lake and into the valley below.
Highlights incl. Excellent bird life, pretty native bush, superb views of Lake Manapouri, Views of back valley & Mt Titaroa from the view point, also views from the beach at the edge of the Lake across a different area of the Lake. Climb to top is approx, 300metres with total length of walk approx 8km..

Take your swimming togs for a refreshing swim in the lake or relax on the lovely white sandy beach, on your return.
A great way to finish the track. (See Map)

Guided - This guided walk is 5 hours long, and incorporates an in depth look at bird life, flora & fauna, lunch overlooking Lake Manapouri and a walk along the beach on the edge of Lake Manapouri. Transport across river and all refreshments included.

Freedom Walk – Row boat hire or river water taxi avaialable to cross river to entrance of track. (see river transport) Allow 4 hours for walk to incorporate rest & photo stops.

Hope Arm - Hire a row boat or take the river taxi to start of Manapouri track, and then either walk to Hope Arm 6 hrs (return)or walk the circuit to Hope Arm and round to Back Valley 7hrs (return). For a relaxed walk there are huts at Hope Arm and Back Valley to stay overnight at, and allows time to walk into Lake Rakatu. Or take a tent and stay at Snow white clearings.

Irisburn beach walk Guided - Enjoy a 4hr walk along a remote beach accessible by boat only and edged by native bush. Picnic lunch included. Great area for swimming. Boat transport to this location is approx 25 min's each way (See Map)
