Fiordland Activities

Dusky Track (4 nights):
The Dusky Track has long been recognised as the pinnacle of walking challenges in the Fiordland area. Though not classed as a 'Great Walk', it is a track of endurance, challenge and variety.

We depart from Te Anau flying by helicopter to Supper Cove at Dusky Sound, staying overnight to explore the area, then travel on through the gorge and over the pass, following the spey river to West Arm on the edge of lake Manapouri, staying in huts along the route. At West Arm we travel across Lake Manapouri by boat, and vechile back to Te Anau.

This track provides views, valley walking, the Dusky Sound, and walking along the edge of the magnificent Spey river. It incorporates crossing rivers, climbing mountains to battling mud in places. This is as wild and remote as you can get, and definitely not for the faint hearted. Good physical ability is a necessity. See map

Guided Dusky Track: Min 2 people, all food, transport and hut passes are included. Maximum group size is 6 plus guide and cook, please enquire for a full itinerary and info for this guided walk. $1,800.00

Unguided 8 days or take a Water plane or Helicopter to Dusky Sound and walk to Westv Arm. We can arrange all transport for this option.

Gorge Falls Track (3 nights):
North Arm Manapouri to South Arm Te Anau:

One of Fiordlands best kept secrets. A very wild track past rivers, waterfalls, hidden lakes and over the Goregeburn pass into South Arm on Lake Te Anau.

Departing from Manapouri by boat we cruise to North Arm on Lake Manapouri to commence walk.

North Arm is a spectacular area of the Lake and a great way to start the track. This Track is partially marked and then we follow the route, through bush clad valleys, over streams and finally over the Gorgeburn pass, past the waterfall and reaching the edge of South Arm on Lake Te Anau, where we will cruise back to Te Anau by boat.

Good fitness level required, a sense of adventure also necessary as this really is a wild remote track seldom walked.see map

Unguided - Transport can be arranged for those wishing to walk this track by themselves. Enquiries welcome.
