Day walks

Manapouri's Back Valley area is a hidden gem of short walks and a starting point for accessing longer and harder trips.

1 - Circle Track (3.5-4hr return)

The Circle Track is a great little walk although a little steep in places.

2 - Beach walk (1-1.5hr return)

Enjoy a different view of Manapouri, the lake and mountains beyond from the beach walk.

3 - Hope Arm (6hrs return)

Hope Arm and the Hope Arm Hut are a good option for an overnight explore.

4 - Back Valley hut (5hr return)

Back Valley with it's charming back-country hut is a beautiful walk through some amazing bush.

5 - Lake Rakatu (7hr return)

Hidden in at the top of Back Valley is Lake Rakatu a remote lake with views up to Titiroa.
